How to make karaoke from a song on your PC

What you need

• A song as an audio or video file — MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, MP4 or MKV — that you have the right to use.
• A computer with Windows 10 or 11. No graphics card required.

Step by step

1. Open the song. Start Karafy and pick your audio or video file. That is the only thing you have to do by hand — everything below runs in one go.
2. Vocals are separated. Karafy splits the track into the singer's voice and a clean instrumental. The instrumental becomes your backing track; the isolated voice makes the next step far more accurate.
3. Lyrics are transcribed. Speech-recognition AI listens to the vocals and writes down every word with its exact timing. It runs on your own computer, so in local mode nothing is uploaded.
4. Lyrics are checked and synced. The transcript is compared with published lyrics to fix misheard words, then every word is aligned to the music.
5. Check it in the editor. Play the result, fix a line or nudge a timestamp if something is off. Most songs need little or nothing.
